About the role

Role overview

Senior Full Stack Software Engineer at Bitwarden (all-remote team). You will help shape and deliver valuable product features across the full development lifecycle, while building expertise across Bitwarden’s codebase and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Research, evaluate, and experiment with emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry standards
Build rapid prototypes / proof-of-concepts to validate new technical approaches
Independently learn and implement new technologies
Stay current on tech trends and assess business impact
Make informed technology choices with limited documentation
Mentor team members on new technologies and development approaches
Become an authority on the Bitwarden codebase, including:
- backend infrastructure and APIs
- database
- web app, browser extensions, desktop apps
Participate in hands-on development
Conduct code reviews and spread technical knowledge

What you bring

Experience working with one or more of Bitwarden’s stack: C#, TypeScript, Rust
Proficiency with source control (e.g., Git, SVN, TFS)
Collaborative, adaptable mindset; openness and strong communication
Strong problem-solving skills and customer empathy for security/password challenges

Nice-to-haves

Bitwarden / password manager startup experience
Open source experience
Experience with Azure, .NET, Rust, Electron, Angular, and/or web browser extensions

Compensation & location

United States starting base compensation: $140,000 – $200,000 (may vary by level and market).
