About the role
Role Overview
As a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer at Bitwarden, you’ll help deliver valuable product features across the full development lifecycle. This is an all-remote team role where you’ll shape the product and contribute deeply across the Bitwarden codebase.
Responsibilities
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry standards
- Build rapid prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate new approaches
- Independently learn and implement new technologies
- Stay current on technology trends and assess business impact
- Make informed technology choices with limited documentation
- Mentor teammates on new technologies and development approaches
- Become an expert on the Bitwarden codebase, including backend infrastructure, APIs, database, web app, browser extensions, and desktop apps
- Participate in hands-on development and code reviews
- Share knowledge and contribute to technical learning across the team
What You Bring
- Experience working in some or all of Bitwarden’s stack: C#, TypeScript, Rust
- Proficiency with source control (e.g., Git, SVN/Subversion, TFS)
- Collaborative, adaptable mindset; strong communication skills
- Enthusiasm for helping customers solve security and password challenges
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to explain solutions
Nice to Haves
- Bitwarden startup experience
- Open source experience
- Experience with: Azure, .NET, Electron, Angular, and web browser extensions
