Senior Full Stack Software Developer

Role Overview

Join Modern Campus as a Senior Full Stack Software Developer to design, build, and maintain cloud-based applications used by thousands of users in North America. You’ll work across the full stack, help evolve the Message product, and contribute to architecture while mentoring teammates.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain cloud-based software applications across the full technology stack.
• Guide frontend practices using strong React experience while staying involved end-to-end.
• Stabilize and evolve system architecture by identifying technical debt, proposing improvements, and helping implement them.
• Lead with technical ownership: take responsibility for solutions, outcomes, and long-term system health.
• Support quality and maintainability through clean code, thoughtful UI, and robust engineering practices.
• Collaborate and mentor through influence, code craft, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, including full-stack web application development.
• Strong hands-on expertise with React and TypeScript.
• Proficiency with modern frontend fundamentals: HTML5, CSS3, modern UI patterns, and UI best practices.
• Experience with event-driven and microservices-based architectures.
• RESTful API design and integration.
• Java and Spring Boot experience.
• Automated testing frameworks such as JUnit and Playwright.
• Cloud and platform tooling: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes.
• PostgreSQL and relational data modeling.
• Experience building and maintaining complex frontend architectures in production.
• Ability to work in environments that balance legacy and modern systems pragmatically.
• Experience building or maintaining high-scale, customer-facing SaaS platforms.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with Scala-based legacy services and/or distributed messaging systems.
• Familiarity with Angular (legacy).
• Experience mentoring junior developers or leading technical initiatives.
