Role Overview

Humana is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to perform software engineering across the stack—database setup, back-end development, and front-end work. The role involves solving complex problems with minimal supervision and advising on functional/segment-specific technical strategies.

Responsibilities

Lead technical architecture and design, and present a technical vision
Work across the full lifecycle of development, including:
- Front-end development and UX/UI
- Back-end development and REST API work
- Database integrations
- Server management and network/hosting management
Mentor and coach a small team of engineers; build and deliver high-performing teams
Partner with senior business/functional leaders to define technical direction
Deliver business-critical systems/components with high quality and on-time delivery
Perform hands-on development (platform, back-end, front-end)
Review requests and provide constructive feedback; investigate and propose new technologies/processes

Requirements

8+ years experience as a senior developer on large IT projects
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Tech-lead level experience in one or more languages such as Java or Scala
Experience with Spring / Spring Boot
Strong understanding of JSON, RESTful web services, and client-server interactions
Experience building highly scalable web platforms
Front-end experience with frameworks such as Vue.js or Angular
Experience with Azure (or equivalent cloud provider)
Infrastructure management and orchestration: Kubernetes, Docker, AKS
Ability to build RESTful APIs and work with infrastructure/security as code
Web development plus React Native experience
AI background with exposure to GCP and/or GenAI tools (e.g., Claude) and related workflows

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree
Proficiency with AI code generation
Exposure to agentic AI journeys/workflows
Experience with Adobe Experience Platform (AJO, AEP, CJA)
