About the role

Role Overview

Join SpotOn as a Senior Full Stack Engineer (Go/React). You’ll build end-to-end features that support thousands of restaurants, working across a Go backend and React frontend. You’ll collaborate closely with product and design, contribute to reliability and scalability, and participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and on-call.

Key Missions & Responsibilities

Design and implement full-stack features across:
- Go services
- REST and WebSocket APIs
- React UI
Ship features end-to-end with product, design, and engineering partners
Improve system reliability, performance, and scalability
Participate in code reviews and architecture discussions
Join on-call rotation and help modernize frontend architecture

Requirements

5+ years of professional software engineering experience
Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript
Strong proficiency in Go (or a similar statically-typed language with willingness to ramp quickly)
Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs
Experience with real-time communication patterns (e.g., WebSockets, message queues)
Experience with MongoDB or other document databases
Solid understanding of state management in complex frontend applications

Nice-to-Haves / Additional Skills

Experience with NATS (or similar messaging systems)
Experience with gRPC and protocol buffers
Experience with hospitality tech, payments, or POS systems
Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS
Experience with Webpack, monorepo tooling, or complex build pipelines
Experience with observability tools: Grafana, Prometheus, and distributed tracing
