About the role

Role overview

EarnIn is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to support its Early Bets initiatives—building new experiences and products that expand the ecosystem for users living paycheck to paycheck. You’ll thrive in ambiguity, help define technical solutions, and collaborate closely with Product and Design to refine requirements.

Responsibilities

Partner with Product and Design to define, build, and evolve full-stack user experiences.
Own and evolve frontend and backend architecture to ensure scalability, performance, accessibility, and maintainability.
Lead complex frontend system design/implementation using:
- React and TypeScript
- Next.js (including SSR, routing, data fetching, and performance optimization)
Design and build backend services and APIs in:
- Python with Django, emphasizing reliability, security, and scalability.
Set and uphold engineering standards (patterns, tooling, testing strategy, CI/CD best practices).
Drive cross-team technical initiatives and align architecture with platform capabilities and product strategy.
Identify technical risks/opportunities and provide clear direction and tradeoff analysis.
Mentor engineers across frontend and backend disciplines to raise code quality and delivery practices.
Implement unit, integration, and end-to-end automated tests across the stack.
Define and monitor full-stack metrics (performance, reliability, and user behavior) to inform decisions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s (or higher such as MS/PhD) in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent technical experience.
Strong modern frontend skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Next.js.
Strong backend skills: Python and Django, including RESTful API design, data modeling, and service architecture.
Strong frontend architecture experience (state management, component design, design systems, performance optimization).
Experience designing/operating backend systems at scale (databases, caching, queuing, API integrations).
Experience building/operating production apps using server-side and client-side rendering.

Nice-to-haves (implied)

Experience delivering 0-to-1 products end-to-end.
Background in early-stage software products engineered for scale or R&D work on new technologies.
