Senior Full Stack Engineer (Core)

Role overview

Rocket Money is hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer (Core) to build and operate core services and platforms. You’ll own end-to-end projects and help improve reliability, observability, and performance across foundational workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Build and operate core services supporting foundational systems, including:
  • Authentication
  • Data privacy workflows
  • AI enablement
  • Internal tooling
• Own projects end-to-end, from problem definition and technical design through implementation, deployment, and ongoing reliability.
• Partner closely with product engineers, data teams, and operations partners to deliver systems that are secure, scalable, and easy to use.
• Improve reliability and observability across critical workflows; investigate issues in performance, data accuracy, and user experience.
• Use AI-assisted engineering workflows to accelerate exploration, implementation, debugging, and iteration while maintaining strong engineering judgment.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience with a combination of:
  • Node.js / TypeScript
  • React (or similar framework)
  • Postgres (or similar relational database)
• Strong autonomy: can take ambiguous problems, align with stakeholders, and drive reliable production outcomes.
• Comfort with observability practices and root-cause investigation.
• Ability to operate effectively in a large organization: build trust, untangle ownership/dependencies, and maintain momentum.

Nice to have

• GraphQL experience
• AI enablement / LLMOps exposure (e.g., model gateways, prompt tooling, provider integrations)
• Privacy & sensitive data experience (e.g., access requests, deletion workflows, least-privilege patterns)
• Auth & identity experience (e.g., Auth0, OAuth, SSO, session management)

Location / work setup

• Full remote, with an expectation of being local to one of the offices (Silver Spring, NYC, SF, Miami, Denver) and visiting 1–2x per week.
