Role: Senior Full Stack Engineer (Backend-Leaning)

Location: Remote (East Coast–friendly hours preferred) Stage: Venture-backed startup (Series A)

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and scale core backend systems and infrastructure for an AI-driven platform.
• Own features end-to-end, from technical design through production deployment.
• Build and maintain integrations, APIs, and data pipelines supporting customer workflows.
• Contribute to customer-facing frontend experiences when needed.
• Collaborate with founders, product, and customer-facing teams to translate real-world needs into robust technical solutions.
• Improve reliability, observability, and performance in production.
• Support and evolve AI workflows, including pipeline reliability and operational improvements.
• Act as a senior technical resource: debug complex issues and raise engineering standards.

Requirements

• Several years of experience as a full stack engineer, with a strong backend focus.
• Proven experience building and operating production backend systems in a startup or fast-paced environment.
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend language such as Go or Python.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React.
• Solid understanding of databases, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Ability to own projects independently and deliver high-quality solutions end-to-end.
• Strong communication skills and enthusiasm for cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience at an early-stage or growth-stage startup.
• Experience building integrations, data pipelines, or workflow-heavy systems.
• Familiarity with AWS, infrastructure-as-code, and observability tools.
• Interest/experience with AI-enabled products (LLMs, automation, applied ML).
• Background in logistics/transportation/operational software.
