Role Overview

Join Alpaca as a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to design, implement, and maintain systems that power the platform used to trade billions of dollars in assets. You’ll deliver high-quality end-to-end solutions across frontend and backend, contribute to API design, and help shape technical strategy.

Key Missions

Design, implement, and maintain core platform systems and services.
Own the user experience and product development for Trading API customers, spanning:
- Frontend trading dashboards
- Backend systems
Lead the design and implementation of frontend components focused on performance and usability.
Mentor peers and influence the company’s technical strategy.

Requirements

5+ years of full-stack development experience with Golang and TypeScript/React.
Proficiency in TypeScript and React.
Strong REST API skills and best practices.
Experience with SQL and relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
Proficiency in a modern systems programming language: Golang or C#.
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Ability to gather and translate stakeholder requirements into delivered features.
Familiarity with HTML/CSS and frontend frameworks, specifically Tailwind CSS.
Experience working remotely and collaborating with stakeholders.

Nice to Have

Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with major cloud platforms (Alpaca primarily uses GCP).
Experience/interest in financial markets.
Algo trading experience (professional or personal).
Startup experience.
