Role overview
Join Skydio as a Senior Frontend Software Engineer to build real-time, mission-critical drone applications. You’ll create intuitive, resilient, high-performance interfaces delivering video, telemetry, and control, while iterating with in-field feedback.
Responsibilities
- Lead development of real-time, high-impact applications used by drone pilots and first responders
- Build mission-critical UI for video, telemetry, and control
- Collaborate cross-functionally to deliver complex integrated features from concept through production
- Work with autonomy teams and iterate based on in-field feedback
- Design systems that scale for performance, reliability, and usability
Requirements
- 5+ years building and shipping customer-facing frontend applications
- Experience delivering complex integrated features from concept to production across teams
- Strong product intuition and user empathy for high-stakes environments
- Strong modern frontend expertise: React, TypeScript, GraphQL, WebGL/Three.js
- Ability to design scalable systems for performance, reliability, usability
Nice-to-haves
- Geospatial data visualization experience: Mapbox, Cesium, or similar
- Familiarity with photogrammetry/scanning/mapping/rendering pipelines
- Frontend integration experience with cloud services: AWS, Temporal, Kubernetes
- Exposure to autonomy or robotics platforms
