About the role

Role Overview

Senior Frontend Software Engineer on the Frontend Platform team at Bestow. You will help evolve a frontend platform that powers Bestow’s applications, libraries, tooling, and infrastructure for employees, consumers, and enterprise customers.

Responsibilities

Lead platform evolution: drive architectural decisions and establish patterns for scalable frontend experiences across the organization.
Architect and implement UI: build complex user interfaces while setting standards for accessibility, performance, and responsive design, and mentoring others.
Partner cross-functionally: collaborate with backend engineers to design and evolve platform capabilities.
Provide technical leadership: influence product direction and technical roadmaps in alignment with user needs and business objectives.
Champion engineering excellence: define comprehensive testing strategies and team standards for unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Lead code quality: lead by example in code reviews, providing feedback that maintains architectural consistency.
Improve CI/CD: optimize and evolve CI/CD infrastructure using NX and CircleCI to improve build times, deployment reliability, and developer experience.

Requirements

5+ years professional software development experience.
Significant depth in React and modern SSR frameworks (e.g., Remix, Next.js).
Expert-level GraphQL architecture (schema design, performance optimization, resolver patterns) and ability to guide API-related architectural decisions.
Proven ability to deliver accessible, performant, scalable frontend solutions balanced with business needs.
Strong leadership and communication skills; ability to influence decisions across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Advanced testing knowledge using Jest, Vitest, React Testing Library, and Playwright/Cypress.
Extensive experience designing and optimizing build/deployment pipelines focused on developer productivity and system reliability.
