About the role

Role Overview

Senior Frontend Engineer (Performance) on the Viewer team, focused on frontend performance tuning and optimization for high-traffic live streaming experiences.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and resolve performance issues such as:
- Excessive renders and long tasks
- Memory leaks
- Layout shifts
- Heavy JavaScript execution
Define and improve measurable performance targets using monitoring tools and business metrics.
Establish and maintain performance budgets, dashboards, and alerts.
Share performance expertise through technical talks, workshops, documentation, mentoring, and tooling.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related) or equivalent experience.
Deep expertise with modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, Svelte, etc.), TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Expert proficiency with performance tooling such as:
- Chrome DevTools
- React Profiler
- Lighthouse
- CPU profiling and performance analysis tools
Senior-level technical leadership with ability to influence architecture and advise cross-functional teams.
Strong understanding of browser internals (JavaScript execution, layout, painting, compositing).
Proven experience improving Core Web Vitals using real-user data.
Hands-on experience diagnosing memory leaks and optimizing rendering and asset delivery.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary range: $180,000–$215,000 annually.
Fully remote option.
