Role overview

Senior Frontend Engineer (Performance) on the Viewer team, focused on frontend performance tuning and optimization for high-traffic live streaming experiences.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and resolve performance and stability issues including excessive renders, long tasks, memory leaks, layout shifts, and heavy JavaScript execution.
Define and improve measurable performance targets using monitoring tools and business metrics.
Establish and maintain performance budgets, dashboards, and alerts.
Drive organizational performance excellence through technical talks, workshops, documentation, mentoring, and tooling.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related) or equivalent experience.
Deep expertise in modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, Svelte, etc.), TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Expert proficiency with Chrome DevTools, React Profiler, Lighthouse, CPU profiles, and other performance analysis tools.
Senior-level technical leadership; able to influence architecture and advise cross-functional teams.
Strong understanding of browser internals (JavaScript execution, layout, painting, compositing).
Proven experience improving Core Web Vitals using real-user data.
Hands-on experience diagnosing memory leaks and optimizing rendering and asset delivery.

Compensation & perks

Base salary range: $180,000–$215,000 annually (excluding additional compensation/benefits).
Fully remote work option.
