Senior Frontend Engineer (Performance)

Role overview

Senior Frontend Engineer (Performance) for the Viewer team, focused on frontend performance tuning and optimization across high-traffic parts of a live streaming platform.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve performance and reliability issues such as:
  • Excessive re-renders and heavy JavaScript execution
  • Long tasks
  • Memory leaks
  • Layout shifts
• Define and improve measurable performance targets using monitoring tools and business metrics.
• Establish and maintain performance budgets, dashboards, and alerts.
• Raise organization-wide performance standards through:
  • Technical talks, workshops, documentation
  • Mentoring and performance tooling

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related) or equivalent experience.
• Deep expertise in modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, Svelte, etc.), plus TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Expert use of performance tools such as:
  • Chrome DevTools, React Profiler
  • Lighthouse
  • CPU profiling and performance analysis
• Strong understanding of browser internals (JavaScript execution, layout, painting, compositing).
• Proven experience improving Core Web Vitals using real-user data.
• Senior-level technical leadership and the ability to influence architecture and advise cross-functional teams.
• Hands-on experience diagnosing memory leaks and optimizing rendering and asset delivery.
