Role Overview

The Senior Frontend Engineer (Performance) will work within the Viewer team, focusing on frontend performance tuning and optimization for high-traffic live streaming experiences.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and resolve performance issues such as:
- excessive renders
- long tasks
- memory leaks
- layout shifts
- heavy JavaScript execution
Define and improve measurable performance targets using monitoring tools and business metrics.
Establish and maintain performance budgets, dashboards, and alerts.
Drive org-wide performance capability through:
- technical talks and workshops
- documentation
- mentoring
- performance tooling

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related) or equivalent experience.
Deep expertise in modern frontend frameworks and web fundamentals, including React, Angular, Vue, or Svelte, plus TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Expert proficiency with Chrome DevTools, React Profiler, Lighthouse, CPU profiling, and other performance analysis tools.
Senior-level technical leadership; able to influence architecture and advise cross-functional teams.
Strong understanding of browser internals (JavaScript execution, layout, painting, compositing).
Proven experience improving Core Web Vitals using real-user data.
Hands-on experience diagnosing memory leaks and optimizing rendering and asset delivery.

Compensation & Benefits

$180,000–$215,000 base salary annually (excluding additional compensation/benefits).
Fully remote option.
