Role Overview

Senior Frontend Engineer (Performance) on the Viewer team, focused on frontend performance tuning and optimization for high-traffic, interactive viewing experiences.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and resolve performance issues such as:
- Excessive renders
- Long tasks
- Memory leaks
- Layout shifts
- Heavy JavaScript execution
Define and improve measurable performance targets using monitoring tools and business metrics.
Establish and maintain performance budgets, dashboards, and alerts.
Share expertise across the organization via:
- Technical talks and workshops
- Documentation
- Mentoring
- Performance tooling

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related) or equivalent experience.
Deep expertise with modern frontend frameworks: React, Angular, Vue, Svelte, etc.
Strong knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
Expert with Chrome DevTools, React Profiler, Lighthouse, CPU profiling, and performance analysis tools.
Senior-level technical leadership; able to influence architecture and advise cross-functional teams.
Strong understanding of browser internals (JavaScript execution, layout, painting, compositing).
Proven experience improving Core Web Vitals using real-user data.
Hands-on experience diagnosing memory leaks and optimizing rendering and asset delivery.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $180,000–$215,000/year (excluding additional compensation/benefits)
