About the role

Role Overview

Senior Frontend Engineer (Performance) for the Viewer team, focused on frontend performance tuning and optimization on a high-traffic live streaming platform.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and resolve issues such as excessive re-renders, long tasks, memory leaks, layout shifts, and heavy JavaScript execution.
  • Define and improve measurable performance targets using monitoring tools and business metrics.
  • Establish and maintain performance budgets, dashboards, and alerts.
  • Share expertise through technical talks, workshops, documentation, mentoring, and performance tooling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related) or equivalent experience.
  • Deep expertise in modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular, Vue, Svelte, etc.), TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Expert proficiency with Chrome DevTools, React Profiler, Lighthouse, CPU profiling, and performance analysis tools.
  • Senior-level technical leadership; able to influence architecture and advise cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of browser internals: JavaScript execution, layout, painting, and compositing.
  • Proven experience improving Core Web Vitals using real-user data.
  • Hands-on experience diagnosing memory leaks and optimizing rendering and asset delivery.
