Senior Frontend Engineer

Role overview

Join Pearl as a Senior Frontend Engineer to own frontend architecture and ship polished interfaces for clinicians. You’ll partner with design, product, and backend teams to turn clinical workflows into intuitive UI and help shape the technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Own the frontend architecture for Pearl’s AI-powered dental platform
• Define and evolve component standards and the design system
• Drive UI quality by setting frontend best practices
  • code reviews, testing standards, performance benchmarks, and observability
• Build scalable, maintainable frontend systems using component-oriented design principles
• Contribute to full-stack features when needed (e.g., Node.js)
• Use AI development tools daily (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, v0)

Requirements

• Expert-level Vanilla JavaScript and React (deep platform knowledge)
• 5+ years of professional frontend engineering experience
• Strong Storybook experience for component development and documentation
• Proven experience building and maintaining design systems at scale
• Command of component-oriented programming and MVC architecture patterns
• UI testing with Playwright (writing and generating UI tests)
• Track record of well-tested, production-grade frontend code
• Ability to work independently and drive decisions with minimal oversight
• Experience collaborating with design and product in fast-moving environments

Nice-to-haves

• Healthcare or dental tech background
• Backend experience with Node.js (Express or Koa)
• AWS experience (Serverless, Lambda, Amplify, RDS, S3)
• PostgreSQL and data modeling familiarity
• Strong Git & GitLab workflow experience (branching, MRs, CI/CD)
