Role Overview
Senior Frontend Engineer (hands-on)
You’ll own major pieces of the frontend architecture for an AI-powered platform used by People Ops teams. This role focuses on building and scaling frontend systems, evolving a micro-frontend architecture, and delivering a world-class UX.
Responsibilities
- Lead frontend development using React, TypeScript, and Webpack, with an emphasis on performance, maintainability, and scalability
- Implement and evolve micro frontend architecture to enable modular, scalable product delivery
- Partner closely with Product Designers and Head of Product to translate UX into high-quality, performant code
- Work with the design system to ensure components are reusable, accessible, and optimized for developer experience
- Critique and collaborate on UX/UI designs; identify implementation constraints and optimization opportunities
- Collaborate with backend engineers to define, consume, and optimize APIs for efficient data communication
- Decide when to use third-party libraries vs custom solutions to balance delivery speed and long-term maintainability
- Own frontend CI/CD pipelines (configuration, optimization, deployment)
- Champion frontend performance best practices (e.g., bundle size reduction and runtime optimization)
- Contribute to frontend technical standards and architecture consistency
- Participate in architecture and roadmap discussions for long-term scalability
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience building modern React applications at scale
- Deep expertise in TypeScript, Webpack, and modern frontend tooling
- Production experience implementing micro frontend architecture
- Experience building and scaling component-based design systems with design teams
- Ability to translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect, performant implementations (and challenge designs when needed)
- Strong UX instincts and experience simplifying complex workflows
- Understanding of REST and GraphQL integration and how frontend code cleanly connects to backend services
- CI/CD configuration and deployment experience for applications
- Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-tested code
- Frontend performance optimization experience (e.g., bundle splitting and virtualization)
- Experience working cross-functionally with designers, engineers, and product
