About the role

Role Overview

Senior Frontend Engineer (hands-on)

You’ll own major pieces of the frontend architecture for an AI-powered platform used by People Ops teams. This role focuses on building and scaling frontend systems, evolving a micro-frontend architecture, and delivering a world-class UX.

Responsibilities

  • Lead frontend development using React, TypeScript, and Webpack, with an emphasis on performance, maintainability, and scalability
  • Implement and evolve micro frontend architecture to enable modular, scalable product delivery
  • Partner closely with Product Designers and Head of Product to translate UX into high-quality, performant code
  • Work with the design system to ensure components are reusable, accessible, and optimized for developer experience
  • Critique and collaborate on UX/UI designs; identify implementation constraints and optimization opportunities
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to define, consume, and optimize APIs for efficient data communication
  • Decide when to use third-party libraries vs custom solutions to balance delivery speed and long-term maintainability
  • Own frontend CI/CD pipelines (configuration, optimization, deployment)
  • Champion frontend performance best practices (e.g., bundle size reduction and runtime optimization)
  • Contribute to frontend technical standards and architecture consistency
  • Participate in architecture and roadmap discussions for long-term scalability

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience building modern React applications at scale
  • Deep expertise in TypeScript, Webpack, and modern frontend tooling
  • Production experience implementing micro frontend architecture
  • Experience building and scaling component-based design systems with design teams
  • Ability to translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect, performant implementations (and challenge designs when needed)
  • Strong UX instincts and experience simplifying complex workflows
  • Understanding of REST and GraphQL integration and how frontend code cleanly connects to backend services
  • CI/CD configuration and deployment experience for applications
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-tested code
  • Frontend performance optimization experience (e.g., bundle splitting and virtualization)
  • Experience working cross-functionally with designers, engineers, and product

Benefits

  • Competitive salary: $125,000–$160,000
  • Equity in a high-growth AI company
  • Fully remote within the United States
  • Comprehensive health insurance and 401K
  • Direct collaboration with founders and product leadership
  • Meaningful product ownership and architectural decision-making authority
