About the role

Role overview

HavocAI is hiring a Senior Frontend Engineer to build and scale the user interfaces for its autonomy platform. You will develop high-performance, data-driven web applications, including map-based and visualization-heavy interfaces that support real-time data and mission-critical workflows.

Key responsibilities

Frontend systems development
- Build scalable, performant UI with React
- Implement complex, data-rich workflows and UI components
- Support operational decision-making with real-time data
Data integration & performance
- Integrate with backend services via REST, GraphQL, or similar APIs
- Optimize rendering for large datasets and frequent real-time updates
- Deliver reliable, responsive performance across devices and browsers
- Monitor, debug, and continuously improve frontend performance
Architecture & maintainability
- Contribute to frontend architecture (state management, data flow, app structure)
- Build and maintain reusable component libraries and UI systems
- Write clean, testable, maintainable, and well-documented code
Cross-functional collaboration
- Partner with backend, platform, product, and design teams to deliver end-to-end features
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical planning

Requirements

5–8+ years of frontend engineering (or related software engineering)
Strong expertise in React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript
Experience building data-driven, high-performance web applications
Experience with APIs and asynchronous data flows
Strong understanding of frontend architecture, state management, and performance optimization
Familiarity with modern frontend tooling and development workflows
Ability to build reliable interfaces for complex workflows
Strong written and verbal communication
U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance

Preferred skills

Map/geospatial application experience with Mapbox, Leaflet, or Deck.gl
Familiarity with WebGL or advanced visualization frameworks
Testing experience with Jest / Cypress
Design systems and reusable component architecture
Real-time systems, data streaming, and operational dashboards
Experience with mission-critical deployed systems and/or small fast-moving teams
Active or prior security clearance
