Senior Frontend Engineer

Role overview

Join Grafana Labs as a Senior Frontend Engineer to improve alert management for Grafana and Grafana Cloud. You’ll partner with customers and cross-functional teams to design, build, operate, and maintain critical frontend systems.

Key missions

• Contribute to the architecture and design of new alerting features for Grafana’s alert system.
• Collaborate with backend and cloud teams to ensure smooth alert integration across platforms.
• Mentor and support team members, participate in design discussions, and collaborate across the team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, operate, and maintain critical frontend components and systems.
• Maintain code quality through testing and tooling.
• Provide guidance to other engineers through mentoring and technical collaboration.

Requirements

• Strong experience with React and TypeScript.
• Experience using grafana/ui and the Saga design system.
• Webpack as a bundler.
• Proficiency with code quality tools such as Prettier and ESLint.
• Experience with Redux Toolkit and RTK Query (RTKQ) for state management and HTTP requests.
• Experience working in a monorepo environment (using NX and yarn workspaces).
• Styling with Emotion for React components.
• Experience with testing: Jest, React Testing Library, and MSW for unit/integration tests.

• Experience specifically in observability/alerting products or similar systems is implied by the domain, but not explicitly required.
