Senior Frontend Engineer

Role Overview

Join Grafana Labs as a Senior Frontend Engineer working with the Grafana Alerting squad. You’ll help build and scale alert management, including alert ingestion and delivery, while influencing the squad roadmap and mentoring teammates.

Key Missions

• Influence the team roadmap and help deliver team and career objectives.
• Design, build, operate, and maintain critical systems, with strong focus on reliability, performance, and availability.
• Mentor and support engineers, participate in design discussions, and collaborate closely with the team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and maintain frontend capabilities for alerting workflows.
• Improve code quality and ensure robust testing and styling automation.
• Contribute across engineering efforts and support reliability/scalability goals.

Requirements

• Remote-first: independent work style and strong communication (regular video-based guidance and collaboration).
• Experience using Webpack as a bundler.
• Testing with Jest, React Testing Library, and MSW (unit/integration).
• Automation of code styling with Prettier, ESLint, and related tools.
• Monorepo workflow using NX and Yarn.
• UI/library experience with Grafana UI and Saga design system.
• Styling with Emotion for React components.
• Strong hands-on React + TypeScript.
• State and HTTP handling with Redux Toolkit + RTKQ.

• Cross-project contributions within Grafana’s larger open-source ecosystem.
