About the role

Role Overview

Senior Frontend Engineer on the Booking Engine Squad, building and evolving the guest-facing reservation/booking experience that powers direct bookings for tens of thousands of Cloudbeds properties worldwide.

What You’ll Do

Design, build, and evolve the booking experience in a modern React + TypeScript codebase
Partner with product, design, and backend to plan, ship, and iterate on features across the full booking journey (e.g., checkout and customization tools)
Improve performance and conversion using profiling and experimentation/analytics
Apply modern e-commerce best practices and help make the experience AI-ready (including enabling new offerings)
Lead discussions with technical and non-technical stakeholders (including frontend architecture)
Mentor teammates through pair programming and code reviews
Write clean, well-documented, thoroughly tested code and champion accessibility

What You Bring

5+ years of web application development experience
Strong modern JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks (React preferred)
Strong HTML/CSS fundamentals
Experience with API-driven design and development
Product sense and empathy for customers
Solid Git fundamentals (workflows/actions)
Passion for software best practices, design patterns, and testing (unit, integration, end-to-end, plus test automation)
Excellent debugging/problem-solving and communication
Strong ownership, time management, and alignment with agile practices
Business-level English fluency
Experience identifying and improving application performance

Bonus / Nice to Have

Experience with analytics tools like GA4
Micro-frontends or Web Components
Deploying/running web apps in the cloud (AWS a plus)
Working with AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code)
Remote-first experience
Experience with Jira, Confluence, GitHub
