About the role
Role Overview
Senior Frontend Engineer for Avride’s Remote Control operator “live command center.” You’ll build and evolve the operator-facing frontend used to assist autonomous vehicles and delivery robots in real-world conditions.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain low-latency, real-time web interfaces for remote vehicle/robot control
- Develop robust React applications integrating live video feeds, real-time maps, and interactive navigation/assistance controls
- Optimize for operator efficiency (keyboard workflows, high-resolution layouts, fast feedback)
- Collaborate with backend, robotics, and UX teams to shape APIs and flows for reliability under edge conditions
- Ship iteratively with a focus on responsive, intuitive tools that support autonomous operations at scale
Requirements
- Strong React and TypeScript skills with a track record building fast, maintainable applications
- Real-time mindset, with experience working with WebSockets/live data/streaming video (plus)
- Strong UI intuition: performance awareness and ability to debug slow or “janky” interfaces
- System thinking: code that holds up under load and aligns with the larger system
Nice to Have
- Experience with WebRTC, low-latency video, or socket-based architectures
- Familiarity with telemetry, maps, or robotics/vehicle systems
- Basic Python or Go skills for debugging backend issues
Location / Work Authorization
- Based in Austin, TX; no remote work and no relocation sponsorship
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
