Senior Frontend Engineer - AI Product

Role: Senior Frontend Engineer (AI Product)

Hands-on frontend role building the user experience of an AI-powered platform for hardware product development. You’ll work with engineering and product leaders to create fast, intuitive interfaces for managing structured engineering artifacts, interacting with ambient AI agents, and monitoring project health in real time.

What you’ll do

• Build production-grade React applications using TypeScript
• Develop and maintain a shared component library and help scale a design system
• Create rich UI for structured engineering data, including:
  • Requirements with traceability
  • Phase/gate tracking
  • Dependency graphs
  • Task boards with discipline tags
  • Version-controlled project plans
• Build UI for AI agent interactions:
  • Streaming chat
  • Proactive coordination alerts
  • AI-generated status summaries and deliverables (proposals, SOWs, reports)
• Implement portfolio-level dashboards for engineering leaders and executives (cross-project cost, schedule, risk)
• Write well-tested code with unit and end-to-end tests
• Collaborate with backend engineers on API integration and client SDK usage
• Contribute to frontend architecture decisions, code reviews, and engineering best practices

Requirements

Must have

• 5+ years building production web applications, including 3+ years with React
• Shipped production React applications
• Expert-level React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript
• Strong experience with component-driven development and design systems (including Storybook)
• Proficiency with CSS frameworks, preferably Tailwind CSS, and responsive design
• Experience with modern build tools such as Vite or esbuild
• Understanding of API integration patterns (REST, OpenAPI, generated clients)
• Ability to balance fast iteration with maintainable, well-tested code
• Demonstrated proficiency using AI coding tools such as Cursor, Copilot, or Claude

Highly valuable

• 0→1 startup experience
• Familiarity with hardware development/engineering workflows or project management
• Experience building UIs for AI/LLM features (streaming responses, chat, structured AI output)
• Headless component library familiarity (Base UI, Radix, Headless UI)
• Data visualization / dashboard-heavy application experience
• AuthN/AuthZ patterns (OIDC, JWT)
• E2E testing frameworks (Playwright, Cypress)
• B2B SaaS / project management or technical collaboration product experience
