About the role
Role Overview
You’ll be a hands-on Senior Frontend Engineer (AI Product) building the user experience for an AI-powered platform for hardware product development. The product helps users manage structured engineering artifacts (requirements, plans, dependencies), interact with ambient AI agents, and get real-time visibility into project health.
Responsibilities
- Build production-grade React applications using TypeScript.
- Develop and maintain a shared component library and help grow the design system as the product scales.
- Create rich UIs for structured engineering data, including:
- requirements with traceability
- phase/gate tracking
- dependency graphs
- task boards with discipline tags
- version-controlled project plans
- Build AI interaction interfaces such as:
- streaming chat
- proactive coordination alerts
- AI-generated status summaries and deliverables (proposals, SOWs, reports)
- Implement portfolio-level dashboards for engineering leaders/executives (cost, schedule, risk across projects).
- Write well-tested code with unit and end-to-end tests.
- Collaborate with backend engineers on API integration and client SDK usage.
- Participate in frontend architecture decisions, code reviews, and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years building production web applications, with 3+ years focused on React.
- Shipped production React applications.
- Strong opinions and experience in component architecture and design systems.
- Demonstrated use of AI coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Copilot, Claude) to accelerate development.
- Expert-level React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript.
- Experience with component-driven development and tools like Storybook.
- Proficiency with Tailwind CSS and responsive design.
- Experience with modern build tooling such as Vite (or esbuild).
- Understanding of API integration patterns (REST, OpenAPI, generated clients).
- Ability to balance fast iteration with maintainable, well-tested code.
Nice to Haves
- Early-stage 0→1 startup experience.
- Familiarity with hardware development and engineering workflows/project management.
- Experience building UIs for AI/LLM features (streaming responses, chat, structured AI output).
- Experience with headless component libraries (Base UI, Radix, Headless UI).
- Data visualization / dashboard-heavy application experience.
- Auth patterns (OIDC, JWT).
- E2E testing frameworks (Playwright, Cypress).
- Background in B2B SaaS and project/technical collaboration products.
