About the role

Role Overview

You’ll be a hands-on Senior Frontend Engineer (AI Product) building the user experience for an AI-powered platform for hardware product development. The product helps users manage structured engineering artifacts (requirements, plans, dependencies), interact with ambient AI agents, and get real-time visibility into project health.

Responsibilities

  • Build production-grade React applications using TypeScript.
  • Develop and maintain a shared component library and help grow the design system as the product scales.
  • Create rich UIs for structured engineering data, including:
    • requirements with traceability
    • phase/gate tracking
    • dependency graphs
    • task boards with discipline tags
    • version-controlled project plans
  • Build AI interaction interfaces such as:
    • streaming chat
    • proactive coordination alerts
    • AI-generated status summaries and deliverables (proposals, SOWs, reports)
  • Implement portfolio-level dashboards for engineering leaders/executives (cost, schedule, risk across projects).
  • Write well-tested code with unit and end-to-end tests.
  • Collaborate with backend engineers on API integration and client SDK usage.
  • Participate in frontend architecture decisions, code reviews, and engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years building production web applications, with 3+ years focused on React.
  • Shipped production React applications.
  • Strong opinions and experience in component architecture and design systems.
  • Demonstrated use of AI coding tools (e.g., Cursor, Copilot, Claude) to accelerate development.
  • Expert-level React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript.
  • Experience with component-driven development and tools like Storybook.
  • Proficiency with Tailwind CSS and responsive design.
  • Experience with modern build tooling such as Vite (or esbuild).
  • Understanding of API integration patterns (REST, OpenAPI, generated clients).
  • Ability to balance fast iteration with maintainable, well-tested code.

Nice to Haves

  • Early-stage 0→1 startup experience.
  • Familiarity with hardware development and engineering workflows/project management.
  • Experience building UIs for AI/LLM features (streaming responses, chat, structured AI output).
  • Experience with headless component libraries (Base UI, Radix, Headless UI).
  • Data visualization / dashboard-heavy application experience.
  • Auth patterns (OIDC, JWT).
  • E2E testing frameworks (Playwright, Cypress).
  • Background in B2B SaaS and project/technical collaboration products.
