Senior Frontend Engineer, AI Platform

Role Overview

Senior Frontend Engineer for Zark Lab’s AI Platform. You’ll build the next-generation web application with a focus on high-performance, real-time AI streaming, large-scale file uploads, and collaborative analytics workflows. This is a full-time remote role with significant ownership of frontend architecture and user experience.

What You’ll Build

• Modern web app using Next.js (App Router), React, and TypeScript
• Real-time streaming UI using Server-Sent Events (SSE) for AI-powered analytics
• Large file upload workflows to cloud storage (MBs to GBs)
• High-performance data visualization and collaborative workspace features
• Optimized rendering and performance strategies (streaming, hydration, edge caching)
• Clean, maintainable component architecture with strong type safety

What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain frontend features with Next.js, React, and TypeScript
• Integrate SSE APIs to power real-time streaming experiences
• Implement robust file upload workflows to cloud storage (e.g., presigned URLs / direct-to-cloud / resumable patterns)
• Optimize page performance (Lighthouse, bundle sizing, caching, streaming rendering)
• Collaborate with backend engineers to refine API interfaces and improve end-to-end performance
• Write clean, maintainable code with testing, linting, and type safety
• Identify UI/UX bottlenecks and deliver performance improvements
• Ship features independently with minimal oversight

Requirements

• Strong experience with Next.js and React (App Router preferred)
• Expert-level TypeScript (type-safe code by default)
• Proven experience implementing SSE-based streaming on the frontend
• Experience with cloud file upload workflows (presigned URLs, direct-to-cloud uploads, resumable uploads)
• Solid web performance optimization skills (bundle analysis, code splitting, caching, rendering strategies)
• Familiarity with modern build tools (Vite, Turbopack, Webpack, or similar)
• Strong communication and ability to work independently
• Track record shipping high-quality frontend applications

Nice to Have

• AI/LLM applications using SSE streaming
• File viewers, media previews, or large-file handling in the browser
• Experience with React Server Components and edge runtimes
• Experience with Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, or backend development
• UI/UX systems experience (Tailwind CSS / shadcn/ui / Radix)
• Collaborative editing or real-time multiplayer features
• Data visualization libraries (Recharts, D3, Plotly)
