About the role

Role Overview

Whiskey Library is seeking a Senior Frontend Developer to build and scale the customer-facing experience across its direct-to-consumer ecommerce and subscription platform. You’ll deliver fast, intuitive, high-quality web experiences and collaborate closely with product, design, marketing, and backend engineering to ship polished, production-ready features.

Responsibilities

Build modern, responsive, high-performance web applications using React and Next.js
Deliver customer-facing features across:
- Ecommerce store
- Subscription platform
- Customer portal
- Internal tools
Translate Figma designs into clean, reusable, maintainable code
Ensure consistent UX across desktop, tablet, and mobile
Optimize:
- Page performance
- Core Web Vitals
- Frontend architecture
Collaborate with product and design to create intuitive customer experiences
Integrate APIs and third-party services with backend engineers
Participate in feature planning, technical discussions, and architecture decisions
Improve usability, accessibility, and performance continuously
Maintain high engineering quality:
- Write clean, scalable, well-tested code
- Review pull requests
- Refactor for maintainability and performance
- Identify and fix bugs before they impact customers
Take ownership end-to-end (planning through deployment)
Work cross-functionally with design, marketing, operations, and engineering

Requirements

4+ years of professional frontend development experience
Strong experience with React.js and Next.js
Excellent knowledge of TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3
Experience with Tailwind CSS or similar modern styling frameworks
Experience consuming REST APIs and working with asynchronous data
Strong understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
Proficiency with Git in collaborative environments
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication and ability to work independently in a remote environment

Nice to Have

Experience with Shopify or Shopify Hydrogen
Experience building ecommerce or subscription-based applications
Familiarity with GraphQL
Experience with state management libraries such as Zustand or Redux
Understanding of performance optimization and Core Web Vitals
Testing frameworks (text cuts off mid-sentence)
