About the role

Role Overview

Contract-based Senior Frontend Developer for the garden3d creative collective with a focus on U.S. West Coast candidates (Pacific Time preferred; Mountain Time also welcome). You’ll build pixel-perfect, performant, accessible web experiences across client projects ranging from immersive brand sites to complex web applications.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Technical Lead to meet client development needs
Build and maintain high-performance web applications using modern frontend frameworks and tools
Implement responsive, accessible, and pixel-perfect UIs from design specifications
Integrate with headless CMS platforms, APIs, and third-party services
Optimize performance (e.g., bundle size, load times, runtime efficiency)
Architect scalable component libraries and design systems for consistency
Write clear documentation for code maintenance and usage
Participate in team rituals: sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives
Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback aligned with best practices

Requirements (Must-Have)

8+ years writing highly performant frontend code; obsession with 95+ Lighthouse performance
Expert in TypeScript, plus one of: Next.js, Nuxt, Svelte, or Vue
Extensive experience with headless CMS (e.g., Sanity, Contentful, Prismic)
Fluency with frontend hosting/industry PaaS (e.g., Vercel, Netlify, Firebase)
Fluency with eCommerce technologies (e.g., Shopify headless & Liquid, Stripe, Swell)
Proven ability to build accessible, responsive interfaces

Nice to Have

Background or interests in design, art, music, food, or fashion
Variety of hobbies or side projects that reflect strong design/quality instincts
