About the role

Role Overview

Optimal Dynamics is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Frontend to join its Product Engineering team. You will lead the development and evolution of customer-facing web applications, translating complex logistics workflows into fast, intuitive user experiences.

Responsibilities

Frontend architecture & development
- Design, build, and scale performant, accessible, maintainable frontend systems using modern web frameworks (React, TypeScript)
- Own key UI architecture decisions (state management, component design, application structure)
Design systems & UX excellence
- Lead the creation and evolution of reusable component libraries and design systems
- Collaborate with design to deliver polished, user-centric interfaces
Performance & quality
- Optimize application performance, load times, and responsiveness
- Establish best practices for testing, observability, and frontend reliability
Cross-functional collaboration
- Work with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver end-to-end features
- Translate complex domain requirements into intuitive UI/UX solutions

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
Senior-level expertise in React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystems
Proven experience building and scaling complex, production-grade web applications (SPAs)
Strong understanding of frontend architecture: state management, performance optimization, component patterns
Experience integrating with APIs and distributed backend systems
Familiarity with modern frontend tooling, testing frameworks, and CI/CD workflows
Experience collaborating with design teams using Figma

Nice to Have

Experience mentoring engineers and driving frontend excellence across teams
Experience building/maintaining design systems or component libraries
Familiarity with data-heavy or real-time UIs (e.g., dashboards, operational tools)

Remote-friendly with availability to work from New York City headquarters
