About the role

Role Overview

Optimal Dynamics is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Frontend to join its Product Engineering team. You will lead the development and evolution of customer-facing web applications, translating complex logistics workflows into fast, intuitive user experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Frontend architecture & development
    • Design, build, and scale performant, accessible, maintainable frontend systems using modern web frameworks (React, TypeScript)
    • Own key UI architecture decisions (state management, component design, application structure)
  • Design systems & UX excellence
    • Lead the creation and evolution of reusable component libraries and design systems
    • Collaborate with design to deliver polished, user-centric interfaces
  • Performance & quality
    • Optimize application performance, load times, and responsiveness
    • Establish best practices for testing, observability, and frontend reliability
  • Cross-functional collaboration
    • Work with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver end-to-end features
    • Translate complex domain requirements into intuitive UI/UX solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
  • Senior-level expertise in React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystems
  • Proven experience building and scaling complex, production-grade web applications (SPAs)
  • Strong understanding of frontend architecture: state management, performance optimization, component patterns
  • Experience integrating with APIs and distributed backend systems
  • Familiarity with modern frontend tooling, testing frameworks, and CI/CD workflows
  • Experience collaborating with design teams using Figma

Nice to Have

  • Experience mentoring engineers and driving frontend excellence across teams
  • Experience building/maintaining design systems or component libraries
  • Familiarity with data-heavy or real-time UIs (e.g., dashboards, operational tools)

Location / Work Model

  • Remote-friendly with availability to work from New York City headquarters
