About the role

Role Overview

Help build a volunteer platform for Helpful Engineering. You’ll develop a responsive, accessible web application that supports:

Volunteer registration
Project registration
Matching volunteers to projects
Self-service access to data and tooling

Preliminary user research and UX designs are already completed; the team is ready to start building the user-facing application.

Responsibilities

Work collaboratively in an Agile/Kanban environment
Develop software following DDD + BDD practices
Use version control and participate in code reviews
Integrate with the platform’s GraphQL API
Translate designs into code using Figma
Collaborate as the team builds UI from UX specifications

Requirements

5+ years of software development experience
Experience with JavaScript or TypeScript

Nice to Haves

GraphQL experience
Knowledge of AI
