Role Overview

Senior / Principal UI Developer (Remote, US-based)

Join a scaling fintech in the fixed income electronic trading space. You will build high-performance, real-time user interfaces for a mission-critical trading platform—with sustained streaming load and continuous UI updates.

Responsibilities

• Build and optimize high-performance front-end applications using React and TypeScript
• Develop real-time, streaming-heavy trading workflow UIs
• Improve runtime throughput, render performance, CPU efficiency, and overall UI responsiveness under constant data updates
• Handle high-frequency data updates without overwhelming the browser or React render cycle
• Design efficient state management patterns for live, data-heavy applications
• Optimize grid and table performance across large, frequently updating datasets
• Debug UI issues using application logs, browser tooling, and profiling (with broader system context)
• Collaborate with back-end engineers, QA, and business stakeholders
• Write clean, testable, production-grade code
• Add and maintain unit, integration, and E2E tests
• Use AI-assisted tools (e.g., Claude Code) to accelerate development while maintaining strong engineering judgment

Requirements

• 6+ years of front-end/UI engineering experience
• Strong commercial experience with React and TypeScript
• Deep understanding of the React render lifecycle
• Proven ability to deliver production-grade performant front-end applications
• Experience with real-time / WebSocket / socket-streaming / high-frequency data applications
• Strong CSS skills and ability to debug layout issues
• Testing experience with Vitest, Storybook, Playwright, or similar
• Comfortable working remotely and communicating clearly
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot)

Nice-to-Haves

• AG Grid and performance tuning for frequently updating tables/grids
• MUI React components
• JSS, Electron, or OpenFin
• Market data / trading systems / real-time analytics / observability platforms (or other live data products)
• Experience profiling React for CPU usage, render bottlenecks, and responsiveness
