Senior Front End Developer (React.js)

Role Overview

Senior Front-End Developer (React.js) for a partner company in the financial services/fintech space. The role is a high-impact senior engineering position building scalable, performant, modern web applications used by credit unions and banking clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of scalable, high-performance web applications across financial/fintech ecosystems
• Build and maintain responsive, enterprise-grade web applications using React.js, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3
• Architect modular, reusable, and scalable frontend and full-stack code structures
• Integrate backend services and APIs across Java (Spring Boot), .NET Core (C#), Node.js, and Python
• Translate UI/UX prototypes into pixel-perfect, accessible, high-performance interfaces
• Optimize application performance across frontend and backend layers
• Lead code reviews, enforce engineering best practices, and mentor intermediate developers
• Collaborate in Agile/Scrum and contribute to continuous delivery improvements
• Ensure seamless integration, data flow, and cross-platform compatibility across cloud-native environments

Requirements

• 10+ years of full-stack or front-end-heavy development, including at least 3 years in a senior/lead role
• Expert proficiency in React.js, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3 (Sass/LESS)
• Strong backend experience with Java (Spring Boot), .NET Core (C#), and Node.js
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and GraphQL design/integration
• Hands-on experience with Azure services (e.g., App Services, Functions, Key Vault)
• Experience with Python in modern web/backend development contexts
• Testing experience with Jest, Mocha, xUnit, or JUnit with a test-first mindset
• Experience in professional services/consulting with client-facing responsibilities
• Strong system design skills and ability to work across distributed architectures
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent
• Canadian citizenship or permanent residency required

Nice to Have

• Fintech/banking/credit union project experience
• Familiarity with multi-cloud (AWS, GCP) or React Native mobile development
