Senior Front-End Developer

Role Overview

Senior Front-End Developer at Comfrt to build and optimize a Shopify Headless storefront. This is a hands-on role focused on front-end architecture, Shopify customization, and delivering pixel-perfect, high-performance UI that improves engagement and conversion.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain new features across the Shopify Headless storefront, especially key eCommerce pages: homepage, PDP, PLP, cart, and checkout.
• Build front-end experiences using React, TypeScript, HTML, Tailwind, and SCSS.
• Implement and customize Shopify Functions to extend backend logic and commerce behavior.
• Integrate storefront with external services and APIs, including:
  • Shopify Storefront API (GraphQL)
  • Shopify Admin API (GraphQL)
  • Shopify Metafields
  • Third parties such as Algolia
• Partner with UX/UI to translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect, robust, reusable React components; participate in design critiques for technical feasibility.
• Customize existing Shopify themes and apps to meet business needs.
• Evolve and govern a Storybook-based design system:
  • Architect new high-quality React components
  • Establish usage guidelines
  • Maintain the source of truth for design tokens
• Improve storefront performance via lazy loading, proper asset management, and code splitting.
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness.
• Maintain accessibility standards, ensuring compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA.
• Debug and resolve front-end/theme issues; follow coding best practices and documentation standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years front-end development experience, with strong focus on Shopify Headless storefronts.
• Strong proficiency in React, HTML, Tailwind, SCSS, and TypeScript.
• Experience working in a fast-paced startup / DTC / ecommerce environment.
• Experience with AI-assisted/agentic coding workflows, e.g. Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot.
• Direct experience with Shopify Storefront API (GraphQL) and Shopify Admin API (GraphQL).
• Familiarity with React state management: Redux, Context API, Zustand.
• Familiarity with headless deployment frameworks such as Shopify Hydrogen/Next.js.
• Hands-on experience with Shopify Functions (discounts, payments, delivery logic).
• Ability to translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect, responsive experiences.
• Solid understanding of Git and version control best practices.
• Strong knowledge of eCommerce page implementation (homepage, PDP, PLP, cart, checkout).
• Expertise in front-end performance optimization (lazy loading, asset management, code splitting).
• Familiarity with Shopify apps and ability to customize/extend them.
• Proven accessibility expertise meeting WCAG 2.1 AA, including semantic HTML and ARIA.
• Cross-functional collaboration with UX/UI designers.
