Senior Front-End Developer

Role overview

Senior Front-End Developer at Comfrt with deep experience building Shopify Headless storefronts using React. This is a hands-on role focused on crafting high-quality, responsive, performance-optimized ecommerce experiences across key customer journeys.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain features for the Shopify Headless storefront (homepage, PDP, PLP, cart, checkout) using React, TypeScript, HTML, Tailwind, and SCSS
• Build and customize Shopify Functions to extend commerce behavior (discounts/payment/delivery logic)
• Integrate the storefront with external services and APIs:
  • Shopify Storefront API (GraphQL)
  • Shopify Admin API (GraphQL)
  • Shopify Metafields
  • Third-party integrations such as Algolia
• Partner with UX/UI to translate Figma into pixel-perfect React components; participate in design critiques for feasibility and reusability
• Customize Shopify themes and apps to meet business needs
• Contribute to the Storybook-based design system (architect components, establish usage guidelines, maintain design tokens)
• Optimize performance via lazy loading, asset management, and code splitting
• Ensure cross-browser compatibility and mobile responsiveness
• Maintain web accessibility standards (target WCAG 2.1 AA)
• Debug and resolve front-end/theme issues; follow coding best practices and documentation standards

Requirements

• 5+ years front-end experience, strongly focused on Shopify Headless storefront development
• Strong proficiency in React, HTML, Tailwind, SCSS, and TypeScript
• Experience with agentic/AI-assisted development workflows (e.g., Claude, Cursor, GitHub Copilot)
• Proven experience with Shopify Storefront API (GraphQL) and Shopify Admin API (GraphQL)
• Experience with React state management (e.g., Redux, Context API, Zustand)
• Familiarity with headless deployment frameworks such as Shopify Hydrogen / Next.js
• Hands-on ability to translate Figma designs into responsive, pixel-perfect implementations
• Strong Git-based workflows and version control practices
• Experience implementing key ecommerce pages (homepage, PDP, PLP, cart, checkout)
• Solid front-end performance optimization skills (lazy loading, asset management, code splitting)
• Familiarity with Shopify apps and extending/customizing their functionality
• Demonstrated expertise meeting WCAG 2.1 AA using semantic HTML and ARIA
