Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer

Role overview

As a Senior Forward Deployed AI Engineer (FDE), you will lead complex AI deployments end-to-end, customize AI workshop modules for customers, and architect multi-agent solutions. You will also design client-specific resource packs, ensure high quality in Deployment Kits, run solutions enablement sprints, and mentor junior FDEs.

Key missions / responsibilities

• Lead multi-system AI deployments end-to-end, owning architecture, build, validation, and the customer relationship throughout.
• Own the AI workshop program for your pod:
  • Customize modules per customer
  • Lead technical sessions
  • Translate outputs into production requirements
  • Evolve content based on field learnings
• Architect multi-agent solutions by selecting the right coordination pattern for each customer’s workflow and compliance requirements.
• Drive the intelligence loop (continuous improvement based on deployment outcomes).
• Maintain Deployment Kit quality and use it as your portfolio.
• Lead solutions enablement sprints and mentor junior FDEs.
• Participate in customer engagements including security review navigation.

Requirements

• 6–10+ years of production software engineering, including 3+ years deploying AI/ML to production.
• Deep production LLM experience, including:
  • multi-agent orchestration
  • MCP/tool-use
  • RAG optimization
  • evaluation frameworks
  • agent deployment at scale
• Deep Python; strong TypeScript/JavaScript.
• BS/MS in Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
• Proven track record leading complex enterprise technical engagements and managing customer relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to produce architecture documents, runbooks, and training materials.
• UK work eligibility on an ongoing basis.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience creating reusable technical assets / platform-thinking.
• Ability and willingness to travel 25–50% (domestic and international).
• Experience founding or scaling an FDE/solutions engineering function; technical founder background.
• Databricks / AWS Bedrock / Temporal experience.
• Agent framework contributions (e.g., Strands SDK, LangChain, open-source MCP servers).
• Domain expertise in healthcare, financial services, or government.
• AI governance/ethics/regulatory familiarity (e.g., GDPR, UK/EU AI Act).
• Proficiency in German/French.

Location / work mode

• Full remote (London, GB) with eligibility to work in the UK.
