Senior Financial Analyst

Role Overview

As a Senior Financial Analyst at Cohere, you will lead financial modeling and analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and variance insights. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams and help improve reporting accuracy and efficiency through financial systems.

Key Missions

• Build dynamic financial models to evaluate business performance (including margins and operating expenses).
• Create and maintain department-level budgets and company-wide forecasts with business leaders.
• Produce monthly reporting packages and perform variance analysis across actuals vs. forecast vs. budget.
• Identify drivers behind variances and work with functional teams to explain and improve performance.
• Manage and maintain data and financial systems to ensure accuracy and streamline reporting.

Profile / Requirements

• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills; able to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to drive change, streamline processes, improve efficiency, and influence stakeholders.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment; startup/scaleup experience is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, or related).
• 7+ years of progressive FP&A experience, with emphasis on global payroll and resource management and running month-end operations.
• Expert-level financial modeling in Excel/Google Sheets, plus familiarity with ERP systems.

Nice to Have

• MBA, CFA, or CPA
• Experience specifically aligned with global payroll/resource management (if not perfectly matching, candidates are encouraged to apply).
