Role overview

Join Reddit as a Senior Engineering Manager for the Machine Learning Platform team, leading the Embeddings Platform Team. You’ll architect and maintain foundational ML embeddings that power all Reddit product verticals, partnering across infrastructure and ML modeling teams to deliver high-impact platform projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Embeddings Platform Team and guide the creation and evolution of foundational embeddings at Reddit.
• Architect and maintain platform capabilities enabling storage and sharing of large-scale data and embeddings.
• Drive high-impact projects aligned with Reddit’s engineering and business goals.
• Ensure the platform delivers on scalability, reliability, performance, and ease of use.
• Build and grow the team: hiring, mentoring, and establishing a culture of technical excellence.
• Establish best practices for machine learning features across the organization.

Requirements

• People management: 4+ years of experience.
• Production software development: 8+ years total experience in a production environment.
• Experience enabling self-service platform for storing and sharing large-scale data and embeddings.
• Strong focus on scalability, reliability, performance, and usability.
• Deep understanding of the ML development lifecycle and platform-user needs.
• Experience leading modeling teams that power foundational embeddings using state-of-the-art architectures.
• Experience building and operating large-scale ML systems serving hundreds of millions of users.
