Senior Engineering Manager (Marketplace)

Role Overview

Senior Engineering Manager for Marketplace Optimization (full remote). You will lead high-impact engineering squads to turn marketplace strategy and ML-backed signals into reliable production systems, while partnering across Product, Machine Learning, and Capital Markets.

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale multiple engineering squads focused on marketplace optimization and ML-driven production delivery.
• Partner with Product, Machine Learning, and Capital Markets to deliver scalable capabilities for:
  • capital routing
  • matching
  • monetization automation
• Build and grow a high-performing team by hiring, mentoring, and developing engineers and ICs.
• Own operational reliability and observability, including incident and continuous improvement practices.
• Drive delivery execution and technical excellence across teams.

Requirements

• Strong analytical, organizational, and strategic thinking with a bias for action.
• Proven ability to lead and scale engineering teams (e.g., headcount growth, improved delivery metrics, managing multiple squads).
• Experience partnering with Product and ML teams to deploy models at scale and build production-ready systems.
• Exceptional communication skills to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated domain expertise in marketplace optimization, including pricing/fee/monetization or routing systems at scale.
• 8+ years of experience, including 3+ years of direct people management.
• Hands-on familiarity with:
  • Cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure)
  • Containerization and orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Scalable API design
• Experience with streaming/event architectures (e.g., Kafka, Pub/Sub) and modern data platforms.
• Track record in regulated or compliance-sensitive environments with auditability.
• Background related to statistics, economics, or applied ML.
• Demonstrated success with observability and reliability practices (e.g., SLO/SLI, monitoring, alerting, post-incident process).
