Role overview

As Senior Engineering Manager at Grindr, you will lead and inspire a high-performing engineering team, drive execution of complex programs, and influence senior leadership. You’ll also champion technical evolution—guiding your team toward an AI-native organization—while balancing present delivery with future priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a high-performing engineering team; foster a culture of excellence and innovation
• Drive execution of complex, cross-functional programs aligned with the company’s strategic and financial goals
• Champion technical evolution by advancing engineering best practices and guiding transformation toward an AI-native approach
• Partner with senior stakeholders and collaborate closely with Product, Design, Business, and external engineering teams
• Manage with a hands-on style when needed: lead ICs directly and drive trust, accountability, and high-quality technical outcomes
• Craft strategy and navigate ambiguity to deliver results in high-stakes environments

Requirements

• Customer-centric builder: has scaled consumer-facing products (ideally mobile) in high-growth tech environments
• Experienced people leader: has led multiple teams and managers, coached senior engineers, and built diverse high-performing organizations
• Technically fluent: deep understanding of engineering systems; credible partner without needing to be hands-on daily
• Cross-functional operator: strong collaboration with Product, Design, Business, and external engineering teams
• Strategic and decisive: ability to manage complexity and deliver in ambiguous environments
