Senior Engineering Manager

Role Overview

As a Senior Engineering Manager at GiveCampus, you’ll lead a technical engineering organization in a remote-first environment (based in the U.S., with periodic in-person onsite attendance). You’ll be one of two Engineering Dev Managers supporting a growing team of 30+ engineers and managing multiple engineering pods aligned with product roadmaps.

Responsibilities

• Pod & people management: Ensure engineering pods are effective through clear goals, strong cadence, and well-structured team interactions.
• Team leadership: Lead performance management, onboarding, retention, and professional development; make difficult staffing decisions when needed.
• Unblock delivery: Act as a multiplier/unblocker to help pods build features end-to-end (back end to front end).
• Technical planning & architecture: Partner with Tech Leads and Product Managers to define/refine projects, including architecture input, work breakdown, scheduling, and release planning.
• Delivery communication: Provide status and progress updates to senior management against delivery objectives.
• Agile leadership: Work within an agile environment and reinforce continuous improvement of agile practices.
• Hands-on engineering: Contribute to architecture and PR review, and keep shared documentation up to date.
• Mentorship: Mentor junior and mid/senior engineers to grow in their craft.

Requirements

• Technical engineering management experience managing multiple teams/pods.
• Strong ability to make both staffing and technical delivery/architecture decisions.
• Experience partnering closely with Tech Leads and Product Managers in product roadmap delivery.
• Demonstrated leadership of agile development practices.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience mentoring across junior through senior engineering levels.
• Familiarity with end-to-end delivery across both back-end and front-end work.
