Senior Engineering Manager

Role Overview

Senior Engineering Manager at GiveCampus (remote-first, U.S.-based). You will lead engineering pods and make key technical and staffing decisions that shape the company’s future product roadmap.

Responsibilities

• Engineering pod & people management: Ensure multiple pods run smoothly with clear goals, cadence, and effective interactions; handle growth, onboarding, performance management, difficult personnel decisions, and retention.
• Unblock and accelerate delivery: Act as a multiplier to unblock your pods and help them deliver features end-to-end (back end to front end).
• Partner with Tech Leads & Product Managers: Collaborate to define and refine projects, including architecture input, work breakdown, scheduling, and release planning.
• Delivery communication: Provide status and progress updates on delivery objectives to senior management.
• Agile leadership: Support teammates in an agile development environment and help reinforce and improve agile practices.
• Hands-on technical contribution: Contribute to ongoing work such as architecture discussions, PR reviews, and maintaining shared documentation.
• Mentorship: Mentor engineers (including more junior team members).

Team / Scope

• One of two Dev Managers managing a growing org of 30+ engineers.
• Manage two or more engineering pods, each with a Tech Lead and 2–5 engineers, working closely with a Product PM.

Requirements

• Strong technical focus to make architecture and delivery decisions.
• Proven ability to manage performance, onboarding, hiring, and professional development.
• Experience working with cross-functional product teams in an agile environment.
• Ability to collaborate with Tech Leads and actively participate in architecture and PR reviews.

Remote / Location

• Remote-first based in the United States.
• Expect to attend multiple in-person company/team onsite events throughout the year (e.g., onboarding and retreats 2–3 times per year).
