Role overview
Lead engineering teams at Dropbox as a Senior Engineering Manager, driving direct business and customer impact. You will help build the future of Dropbox’s File Sync & Share product with a focus on AI integrations and evolving the organization toward an AI-powered workspace.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of 12–20 engineers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to plan roadmaps and sprints and ensure high-quality delivery on critical objectives.
- Manage larger engineering organizations (20+ people), including managing managers.
- Run career conversations and develop direct reports.
- Execute engineering work with a balance of execution predictability and agility for bringing new products to market.
- Support building/integrating AI solutions, including AI agent infrastructure, model serving, inference, and data pipelines at scale.
Requirements
- 10+ years of software engineering experience.
- 8+ years of people management experience with engineering teams.
- Experience running a standard Agile process (e.g., backlog management, standups, retros).
- Results-driven leadership in a collaborative, virtual-first environment.
- Experience in a platform team or a developer-facing API product with internal and external consumers.
- Experience managing engineering organizations (20+ people) and managing managers.
- Experience building or integrating AI products, including AI agent infrastructure.
- Strong backend engineering skills for systems supporting model serving, inference, and data pipelines.
- Experience shipping AI-powered features in production and collaborating with ML engineers and product teams.
- Ability to evaluate AI models for specific use cases and advise on build vs buy decisions.
- Expertise in distributed systems architecture (scalability, fault tolerance, observability, graceful degradation).
Nice-to-haves
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent technical experience such as physics/mathematics).
