Senior Engineering Manager (Cloud)

Role overview

As a Senior Engineering Manager (Cloud) at Redpanda Data, you will lead a team of engineers building Redpanda Cloud. You’ll own end-to-end delivery of your team’s roadmap while maintaining a high standard of operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of engineers working on Redpanda Cloud (including Agentic Data Plane efforts)
• Own end-to-end delivery of the team roadmap: scoping, prioritization, execution, and on-time launches
• Maintain operational excellence and reliability standards
• Partner with Product Management to translate product priorities into clear engineering plans
• Collaborate with Customer Success and Solutions Engineering to prioritize and unblock customers

Requirements

• 3+ years managing highly technical engineering teams with a strong delivery track record
• 7+ years software engineering experience, including building and operating enterprise-grade SaaS
• Expertise in cloud infrastructure and operations with hands-on experience in public clouds (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and distributed systems
• Proficiency in Golang or recent hands-on technical experience
• Strong technical leadership and verbal/written communication skills
• Empathy and commitment to building high-trust, distributed teams
• Hands-on expertise with Linux systems running production-grade services
• Experience with data/AI-related infrastructure: data streaming, AI/ML infrastructure, databases, or distributed storage at scale

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with agentic AI processes and AI-assisted software development lifecycles
• Experience enabling teams to adopt AI code generation tools to improve velocity while maintaining quality
