Senior Engineering Manager, Back End

Role Overview

SentiLink is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager (Back End) to lead a backend/platform engineering team responsible for core products. You’ll own backend systems, external APIs, and the technical foundation needed for scalability, reliability, and security.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a backend/platform team of engineers building systems powering Intercept and other critical applications
• Drive execution across planning, prioritization, and delivery with a focus on reliability and scalability
• Set technical direction for backend services and APIs (secure, performant, maintainable)
• Partner with product and front-end teams to translate product requirements into robust backend architecture
• Collaborate with data science to productionize models and integrate decisioning into APIs and workflows
• Work with infrastructure to improve reliability, observability, and developer experience
• Contribute to architectural decisions and guide long-term platform evolution
• Maintain high standards for code quality, testing, and operational excellence
• Participate in incident response and ensure systems meet SLA expectations
• Hire, mentor, and develop engineers while maintaining a high hiring bar
• Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
• Contribute to code and deep technical problem-solving as needed

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering background who enjoys staying close to technical work (architecture/design and unblocking complex systems)

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working closely with data science, infrastructure, and product teams to operationalize decisioning systems and deliver API-driven platforms
