About the role
Role Overview
Join Abnormal Security as a Senior Engineer – Enterprise Platforms. Build and operate AI-powered agents, copilots, and automations across enterprise IT domains, enabling self-service for employees and smarter operational workflows.
Key Missions
- Design and ship AI agents and copilots for Enterprise Platforms to automate:
- joiner/mover/leaver flows
- access requests
- troubleshooting
- governance reviews
- Wrap existing runbooks and policies into AI-powered workflows across internal tools, automations, and conversational interfaces.
- Lead Tier 3 incidents in your areas and feed incident learnings back into:
- automations
- agents
- runbooks
- governance rules
Responsibilities
- Mentor engineers on AI design.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize high-value AI use cases.
Requirements
- 5+ years in platform or systems engineering with ownership of complex, connected systems and a strong automation bias.
- Comfort with observability and defining/tracking metrics such as quality, latency, safety, and cost.
- Practical familiarity with large language models and AI application design (e.g., prompts, tools, guardrails, evaluation).
- Clear communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven incident and change management practices (root cause analysis, documented follow-through, evidence of improvements).
- Strong understanding of code structures, APIs, and integration patterns.
- Hands-on experience building/operating AI or automation workflows that integrate with enterprise platforms.
- Ability to read and reason about code and automation frameworks.
- Solid identity/access knowledge: SSO, MFA, least privilege, provisioning, device trust.
- Experience in remote-first, SaaS-heavy environments with zero trust concepts.
Nice-to-haves / Additional Signals
- Experience building/operating internal copilots, agents, or workflow/conversational interfaces for IT, security, or operations.
- Familiarity with AI orchestration/workflow systems and evaluation methods (e.g., golden sets or human review).
- Awareness of security/compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001 and how they apply to AI and data governance.
- Prior experience mentoring or leading technical work related to AI/automation/platform governance.
