Senior Director, Solutions Architecture/Engineering (Remote: USA)

Role Overview

Senior Director to lead the Solutions Architecture/Engineering (SASE) team, supporting Cologix’ sales efforts with deep pre-sales technical support and solution architecture across the North American platform. This role also provides a growth path toward Vice President, SASE.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of engineers and technicians supporting customer solution development.
• Provide technical guidance and managerial oversight; mentor and promote growth within the team.
• Architect and advise on creative, complex colocation and IT/cloud/networking solutions for prospects, customers, and partners.
• Participate in deep technical discussions to ensure customer solutions are designed for successful deployment.
• Educate customers (from retail to hyperscale) on Cologix’ value proposition and technical offerings.
• Translate customer requirements for private/public/hybrid cloud networking environments into Cologix technical solutions.
• Serve as a technical advisor to customers and the sales team, including articulation to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support Cologix North America platform efforts (US & Canada), with ~30% travel; primary focus on the eastern US.
• Apply broad knowledge of critical facilities and infrastructure to support solution designs.
• Help assess current operations, identify design flaws, and build consensus on proposed solutions and action plans.

Requirements (Essential Skills)

• Broad knowledge of Internet technologies including servers, networking equipment, and storage design for colocation/hosting/cloud.
• Broad knowledge of AI systems and AI system architecture.
• Broad knowledge of critical facilities (electrical/generation and mechanical systems).
• Understanding of data center telecom cabling standards.
• Ability to quickly assess operations, identify design flaws, and drive consensus on solution and plan of action.
• Ability to focus ambiguous customer needs into specific requirements (text cuts off after this line in the posting).
