Role overview
Senior Director, Software Engineering is a senior leadership position responsible for defining and driving the technical vision for core digital health onboarding and access systems. The role leads multiple engineering teams building registration, onboarding, authentication, and eligibility capabilities that impact user access to care and conversion outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and scale multiple engineering teams for registration, onboarding, authentication, and eligibility systems.
- Own long-term technical vision and architecture for onboarding and access platforms with 5–10 year scalability goals.
- Drive engineering excellence across performance, reliability, compliance, and user experience in high-traffic, mission-critical environments.
- Partner with Product, Data Science, Analytics, and business stakeholders to improve acquisition funnels, conversion rates, and end-to-end member journeys.
- Oversee delivery execution across distributed teams, managing alignment, risk, and timely delivery of complex initiatives.
- Mentor and develop senior engineering leaders; establish engineering practices and operational discipline with accountability.
- Foster innovation and continuous improvement, encouraging adoption of modern technologies and scalable system design.
Requirements
- 10+ years of engineering leadership experience, including managing large engineering organizations (30+ engineers).
- Proven experience scaling complex platforms, specifically identity, registration, authentication, or eligibility systems.
- Strong architectural expertise translating product/business needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Ability to lead distributed teams in fast-paced, product-driven environments.
- Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder influence.
- Experience in highly regulated or enterprise-scale environments (healthcare, banking, etc.) preferred.
- Strong project management discipline (risk management, dependency tracking, delivery oversight).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
