Senior Director of Product Management (Core Platform)

Role Overview

Join SandboxAQ (AISim division) as a Senior Director of Product Management (Core Platform). You will own the product strategy and roadmap for the shared platform foundation that underpins BioSim and ChemSim, while leading and directly contributing to day-to-day execution.

Responsibilities

• Set and own end-to-end platform strategy, vision, and roadmap across BioSim and ChemSim, including build-vs-buy decisions.
• Build, grow, and manage a team of 5–6 product managers (PM ICs) across areas such as:
  • ML Platform, Data, Agentic, Core Infrastructure, Trust, and Partner Integrations
• Drive execution personally for key deliverables until the team is fully ramped.
• Establish data-driven operating rhythms:
  • Define key metrics for success
  • Present them in business reviews
  • Connect variances to OKRs and drive course corrections

Requirements

• 10+ years in product management, including 5+ years managing individual contributors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
• Proven experience building and shipping enterprise-grade commercial platforms.
• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS and enterprise security/compliance, including examples such as HIPAA, SOC 2, FedRAMP and API governance.
• Strong platform/infrastructure product background (e.g., MLOps, data platforms, scientific engines, developer tools).
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and turn unclear customer needs into scalable products.
• MBA (or equivalent business leadership experience).
• Familiarity with AI/ML platform requirements across:
  • inference, training, fine-tuning, agentic AI, and federated learning
• Deep domain expertise in scientific simulation software for drug discovery and/or materials research.

Nice-to-haves / Additional

• PhD in Computational Chemistry, Computational Biology, or Biomedical Engineering.
• Must be physically located in the Greater Seattle Metropolitan area or SF Bay Area.
