About the role

Role Overview

Wing is seeking a Senior Director of Global Operations to build and lead the operational engine that scales on-demand drone delivery. Based in Palo Alto, CA or remote (US), you will architect and optimize a highly scalable, multi-site physical operations model as Wing expands to nearly 20 US metro areas.

Responsibilities

Build the launch engine for Wing: lead the execution of new market launches while ensuring existing markets meet operational and strategic OKRs and aviation protocols.
Coordinate rapid deployment of operating and co-located retail sites by partnering with Partnerships, Commercial Real Estate, BizOps, and Regulatory teams (permitting, setup, operationalization).
Monitor and optimize unit economics at the site level as the business scales (e.g., cost-per-delivery, labor efficiency, fleet availability).
Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Partnerships to operationalize new aircraft hardware/software and merchant partner integrations.
Recruit, lead, and scale a high-performing operations workforce using a mix of FTEs and third-party contractors/vendors, fostering a data-driven culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Drive AI-driven tools and automated workforce scheduling to improve labor allocation, forecast drone maintenance, and streamline ground diagnostics.
Ensure compliance with regional aviation regulations (e.g., FAA Part 135/107, CASA) and uphold EHS and local site safety protocols across all locations.

Requirements

25+ years of progressive operational leadership experience in managing hyper-growth operations (statement truncated in provided text).
